Tiger Sightings in Madla Zone during Panna Tiger Safari Trip

This tour delivered top-tier tiger sightings in all three safaris per day — a rare achievement even in prime zones like Madla. Here are the key big cat highlights:
Male Tiger P243 A solitary male on the move — regal, confident, and aware of his territory. Seen crossing a trail in early morning light.

Tigress P141 with Kill + 3 Cubs A truly breathtaking moment — seeing P141 feeding on a fresh kill with her three healthy cubs nearby. We spent quality time observing them feeding, playing, and resting around the kill site.

Two Cubs of Tigress P151 A more cautious but equally rewarding sighting. The cubs emerged briefly from forest, offering us a glimpse into the next generation of Panna's tiger lineage.

Leopard Encounters during Panna Tiger Safari Trip

As if tigers weren’t enough, Panna gave us three leopard sightings:

  • Two Males and One Female Leopard On separate safaris, we spotted leopards in their typical elusive fashion — one on a rocky outcrop, another crossing a nullah, and one female basking in the golden hour light.

Bird & Mammal Highlights in Panna Tiger Safari Trip

While the focus was on big cats, we had our eyes and lenses tuned for unique wildlife and birding moments that added incredible depth to our Panna experience.
  • Four-horned Antelope – shy and beautifully camouflaged, seen near a dry grass patch in the Madla zone. A rare antelope species that prefers hilly terrain and is seldom photographed.
  • Crested Serpent Eagle with Kill – perched regally on a tree, clutching a freshly caught snake in its talons. A perfect raptor moment that thrilled the photographers in our group.
  • Himalayan Griffon – Majestic and watchful, a Himalayan Griffon rests amid the rugged rocks. A true sentinel of the high mountains, blending power with grace.

  • Painted Sandgrouse – a delightful find, this beautifully patterned ground bird was seen foraging near a dry track. Their cryptic coloring makes spotting them all the more rewarding.

  • Red Avadavat (Strawberry Finch) – bright and beautiful, this tiny bird lit up the grassland with its crimson and spotted plumage. A favorite among bird photographers for its striking appearance.

These sightings added color, diversity, and photographic richness to the trip, reminding us that Panna is not just about tigers and leopards, but a vibrant mosaic of wildlife — from rare mammals to vivid avian gems.

Field Moments during Panna Tiger Safari Trip

“There’s something humbling about watching a tigress feed her cubs, entirely wild, just meters away from your jeep,” shared one of our guests. The Madla zone of Panna continues to surprise us with its balance of visibility, landscape drama, and species diversity. This trip reconfirmed its status as one of India’s most under-rated tiger reserves.
