An Unforgettable 9-Day Journey Through Ladakh organised by WoW: We spent 9 wonderful days exploring Ladakh in late August, and the entire experience was deeply rewarding. The itinerary struck the right balance—providing ample time for sightseeing while factoring in essential rest and acclimatization. Stays & Hospitality: Accommodations were comfortable throughout, the food was consistently good, and every property handled our dietary requirements with great care. The warmth, humility, and genuine politeness of the Ladakhi people made every interaction memorable. Driver & Wildlife Spotting: A special shout-out to our driver, Tashi, who navigated the rugged mountain roads with skill and had a sharp eye for spotting local fauna and our guide Jiggy for keeping us well informed of the Ladakhi history and culture. While our morning and evening walks yielded relatively scarce birdlife—Tashi rightly pointed out that dedicated birding requires much more stationary time—our group of four with varied interests was very content with what we encountered. Culture & Landscapes: Beyond the breathtaking mountain scenery and marveling at the impressive high-altitude road infrastructure, the trip offered meaningful cultural and regional insights. We gained a real appreciation for the vital presence of the Indian Army guarding the borders, and visiting two monasteries alongside a nunnery provided a serene window into local Buddhist traditions. A well-rounded, thoughtfully planned journey that gave us a true feel for Ladakh’s heritage, landscape, and rapid development. Highly recommended!+13Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

An Unforgettable Wildlife Experience with WOW I have always been passionate about wildlife and nature, and for many years I dreamed of visiting world’s famous reserve forests(Masai Mara) and experiencing wildlife up close. However, due to my mobility limitations as a wheelchair user, I was uncertain whether such a journey would be practically possible. While searching online for wildlife tour options, I came across WOW. After learning about their safari tours, I contacted Mr. Mohit and explained my accessibility requirements. I was pleasantly surprised by his prompt response, professionalism, and willingness to understand my concerns. After carefully reviewing my needs, he assured me that suitable arrangements could be made, allowing me to confidently proceed with the booking. The itinerary included a jungle safari, a visit to a beautiful lake destination, and a sightseeing program in Lake naveisha. From the moment we arrived until the completion of the tour, every aspect of the journey was thoughtfully planned and executed. The transportation arrangements, airport transfers, hotel accommodations, and resort facilities were all well suited to my requirements. Wheelchair accessibility was available wherever needed, and the staff throughout the trip were well-informed, courteous, and highly cooperative. The highlight of the journey was undoubtedly the jungle safari. Observing wildlife in their natural habitat and witnessing animals from such close proximity was an exhilarating and unforgettable experience. The scenic lake visit and Lake naveisha program added further charm to the trip, making it both enjoyable and memorable. After completing the tour, my companion and I returned home with wonderful memories and immense satisfaction. I sincerely appreciate the efforts made by WOW and especially Mr. Mohit, whose dedication, planning, and personal attention ensured that the entire journey was comfortable, accessible, and stress-free. I would highly recommend WOW to anyone seeking a well-organized wildlife and nature tour, particularly travelers who require special accessibility arrangements. Their professionalism, commitment to customer satisfaction, and exceptional support made this trip truly remarkable. Special thanks to Mr. Mohit and the entire WOW team for turning a long-cherished dream into reality. – Arvind Gupta, Kota (Rajasthan)Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

What an amazing photography workshop at Sanjay Dubri and Bandhavgarh by World of Wild. It was a complete wildlife learning experience. Our mentor shared valuable insights on tracking wildlife, understanding light, and creating great images. The hands-on guidance and daily image reviews helped me gain confidence behind the camera. I returned home with not only great photographs but also a deeper appreciation for wildlife.Posted on Google![]()

It honestly felt like the team had thought of everything before we even needed to ask. They knew exactly where to go, when to be there, and how to help us get those magical shots, not just of the Big Five, but of birds I never even knew existed.

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve – Pristine Terai Wilderness on the India–Nepal Border
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve • Uttar Pradesh • Terai Grasslands, Rhinos, Swamp Deer & Tigers
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, along the India–Nepal border, protects one of the last true Terai jungles of the subcontinent. This is a landscape of dense sal forests, vast grasslands, wetlands and riverine belts — a very different feel from the teak and sal forests of central India.
Here you have a rare combination in one park: Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinoceros, large herds of swamp deer (barasingha), elephants, and more than 400 species of birds. For travellers who have already seen popular parks like
Bandhavgarh or
Ranthambore,
Dudhwa offers an offbeat, raw and deeply satisfying jungle experience.
Quick Highlights
- True Terai habitat with grasslands, swamps & sal forest
- Home to tigers, rhinos, elephants & swamp deer
- 400+ bird species across forest, grassland & wetland

About Dudhwa Tiger Reserve
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is a landscape-level conservation area that includes:
- Dudhwa National Park
- Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary
- Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary
Together, they protect a mosaic of sal forest, tall elephant grass, marshes, oxbow lakes and riverine stretches along the Mohana, Suheli and Ghaghra rivers. This diversity of habitat is what makes Dudhwa so rich in both mammals and birds.
Unlike commercial parks where traffic is high, Dudhwa still feels quiet and wild. Safaris are more about listening, tracking and slowly reading the forest — a style of experience that many repeat wildlife travellers fall in love with.
Why Visit Dudhwa Tiger Reserve?
1. Classic Terai Tiger Habitat
Sightings of tigers in Dudhwa often happen in grassland edges, sal forest clearings and along riverine belts. The tall grasses and misty winter mornings create a very different mood compared to parks like Kanha or Tadoba.
2. One-Horned Rhinoceros Outside Assam
Dudhwa is one of the few places in India outside Assam where the Indian one-horned rhinoceros has been successfully reintroduced. Seeing rhinos in the Terai grasslands, with sal forest in the background, is a highlight of the park.
3. Stronghold of the Swamp Deer (Barasingha)
Dudhwa holds one of the largest populations of swamp deer in India. Large herds grazing in wet grasslands are a reminder of how this entire belt once looked before human pressure increased.
4. Birding Heaven
With more than 400 species recorded, Dudhwa is a serious birding destination. From grassland specialists and wetland birds to raptors and forest species, the variety is exceptional. For many birders, Dudhwa and Manas or Kaziranga together make a dream Terai–Brahmaputra birding circuit.
How to Reach Dudhwa Tiger Reserve
By Train
Dudhwa Road railway station is around 10 km from the park and connects well to Lucknow and other major junctions. From there, local transfers or pre-arranged vehicles can bring you to your lodge.
By Air
The nearest major airport is Lucknow (around 230 km away). Many guests combine a visit to Dudhwa with time in Lucknow or onward journeys to other parks like Panna or Kanha.
By Road
Dudhwa is accessible by road via NH-730 and other regional highways. Road conditions are generally good for most of the year, but travel times can vary with season and weather.
Where to Stay in and around Dudhwa
Stays around Dudhwa are simpler compared to heavily commercial parks, but this is also part of its charm.
Forest-Style Lodges & Resorts
- Comfortable rooms or cottages close to park gates
- Ideal for families and travellers wanting structured comfort
Eco-Stays and Nature Camps
- Closer feel to nature, often with basic but warm hospitality
- Good for birders and seasoned wildlife travellers
